BADIs' founders were David Wilkinson and Lisa Attwell. With James Quinn and Steve Tew, they made up a first committee and met in January 2000. See full history.
We believe that our members are more enthusiastic about their profession, and are of higher average ability, than the average ADI. They are also keener to improve their own abilities and teaching skills, work towards a better industry, and so benefit their businesses and provide a better client service. One of the functions of the DVSA is to protect the public from ineffective ADIs. This website aims to help that good cause. |

BADIs has a history of attracting good speakers, with a number from the DVSA (or its predecessor, the DSA) including Robin Cummins (the then Chief Driving Examiner) and Trevor Wedge (a later Chief DE), and John Sheridan (an Assistant Chief DE). They've come also from major national ADI organisations, chief examiners from RoSPA and DIA, current / past chairs of IMTD, and leading figures and experts from the ADI world. Our membership itself include some such people.
